Historic New Orleans Collection
This is an excellent if somewhat eccentric history museum (eccentric because it began its life simply as one couple’s collection). In a complex of historic French Quarter Buildings at 533 Royal Street the Collection’s holdings comprise some 35000 library items more than two miles of documents and manuscripts and approximately 350,000 photographs, prints, drawings, paintings and other artifacts. They also have the best gift shop in town!
