About Cairo

The 16 million people who live here create a whole lot of energy and that includes some good places to drink and eat. As is often the case, the best places are the bars, clubs and restaurants of the best hotels. But there’s other fun to be had off the beaten track too.
Egypt is a staunchly Muslim country so most of the action is backstreet. Upmarket hotels and bars will keep the hookers out of your room but taxi drivers will take you to where you need to go to pick them up. Europa Hotel (below) is worth a try and the girls hang out around here too.
