About Marbella and Costa del Sol
Marbella’s motto is "A Way of Life " and certainly this luxurious resort town seems to have it all. It is once again rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich & famous, as well as more ordinary folk who are willing to pay just a little bit extra for southern Spain’s answer to St Tropez.
If you are thinking of going to Marbella for a gay holiday, it’s probably not the place for you. There are just two small gay bars that rarely have more than a few clients in them, and even the gay beach is 15 kilometres away at Cabopino!
Marbella is Spain’s playground for the rich and famous, but the straight rich and famous! Puerto Banus is beautiful to look at for a day and you could easily spend 10,000€ in the blink of an eye in it’s Versace, Ferre and Hugo Boss haut couture stores, but then what do you do when you’ve done that? Unless of course you are extremely rich and famous and straight, because there’s nowhere gay for you to go to show off your fabulous new 10K wardrobe!
Almost all Marbellans go to Torremolinos since it has much better gay bars.
