About Luxembourg

Luxembourg – officially the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is the world’s only remaining sovereign Grand Duchy ruled by a Grand Duke. Europe’s smallest independent nation is landlocked and bordered by Belgium, France and Germany – with all their influences coming through. It has a history dating back to Roman times. The people of Luxembourg enjoy a very high standard of living and the prices are noticeably higher here than in France and Germany, for everything from hotel rooms to eating out. Although petrol, tobacco and alcohol are cheaper.
Luxembourg is very tolerant of homosexuality it has been legal in the Dutchy for over 200 years. The gay scene here is quite good and there is a good choice of gay bars and clubs which are all fun places. The best bars can be found in the city centre. Although, all bars are gay-friendly and you should not encounter any problems visiting any establishment, no matter where you go, you should have a great night. Luxembourg City stays up late, and there are numerous nightspots, jazz clubs, theatre & concerts and other after-dark activities. Clubs come and go rather frequently, so it’s a good idea to stop by the tourist office and pick up a copy of ‘The Week in Luxembourg’ to see what’s happening during your visit. All the bars and clubs we’ve listed were open at the time of writing this.
