About Geneva

Welcome to Geneva! Situated along the banks of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps, Geneva sparkles as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Home to the European HQ of the United Nations, Geneva has a long history of diversity and tolerance dating back to the Protestant Reformation. Today, the city of Geneva is a cultural centre second to none, featuring world-class entertainment, top-rated restaurants and unlimited opportunities for recreation.
Lesbian and gay travellers should not be concerned about encountering hostile displays of homophobia in Geneva. There are several decent gay and lesbian bars in Geneva. The generic dance 360° is a logo to watch out for: an inclusively queer organisation with a magazine, they regularly organise dance parties with excellent DJs in different venues around Geneva. Flyers announcing their events can be found in most of the above-mentioned bars.
For outdoor romance (if you want to call it that), nothing beats a starlit stroll through the Parc de la Perle du Lac or the Parc des Bastions, as you will see from the number of night-time park enthusiasts. Tolerance of open-air cruising is one of the signs of Geneva’s open-mindedness. However, such activities are, as everywhere else in the world, at your own risk.
