About Edinburgh

Scotland has a long history of gay rights and was the first country in the British Isles to lower the age of homosexual consent to 16. The biggest gay scenes in Scotland can be found in Edinburgh & Glasgow, where you’ll find warm Scottish hospitality mixed with lively night life and world-class cultural attractions.
Edinburgh also hosts most of its happening gay spots in the same location, specifically in the streets surrounding Broughton Street and Greenside Place. While there are a number of pre-club drinking dens in which to wile away the hours – almost everyone ends up in CC Blooms, the un-official gay capital of the city. Where possible we have tried to name gay venues, or gay – lesbian friendly venues. We have also included straight venues, which are well worth visiting whilst in Edinburgh.
One of the finest cities in the world with fantastic culture, architecture and general ambiance. The capital city has it all and is liberal as hell. Easy to get around and with an element of sophistication running through it. Many events all-year round and the festival in August is a must-do.
