About Berlin

Berlin has all the attributes you would expect of a capital city. With many sights, including museums, art galleries, a zoo and aquarium, The State Opera, as well as many historical sights such as the remains of the Berlin Wall and Check Point Charlie.
One of the best places to party, it’s just about the gayest city in Europe! Known for its wild, hedonistic parties, it’s a city where pretty much anything goes. With approximately 300,000 homosexuals living here, Berlin ranks as the 3rd largest gay metropolis in all of Europe, with only London and Amsterdam boasting greater numbers. In the main gay areas, same sex couples can be seen kissing and holding hands, because of this acceptability, the gay scene is not limited to gay venues. Gay life is just another feature of the vibrancy of this amazing city. However, in districts further from the centre and particularly to the East of Berlin, the presence of right wing elements means that same sex couples need to be more cautious about showing affection in public.
The more traditional gay male scene is at Nollendorfplatz & Schöneber. Mitte is the heart of Berlin. Kreuzberg, which is very liberal and open-minded. Friedrichshain & Prenzlauer Berg, part of a newer scene which feels like its very alive and still developing.
