About Amsterdam

The Venice of the North has so much more to offer than just the obvious. Good bars, clubs, hotels and dining. Easy to get around and easy to get what you want. More than any other city in the world, Amsterdam not only appears to tolerate gay and lesbian culture, it actively seems to celebrate it. Like most of Europe’s other major urban centres, the city holds a Gay Pride event, but few can hold a candle to the pomp and show of Amsterdams.
In the heart of the red-light district, the Warmoesstraat is where you will find the majority of the city’s leather bars and rainbow flagged saunas. Further south, in the Museum Quarter, are the smartest shopping streets and classy boutiques. Here you will find the Reguliersdwarsstraat area, known simply as The Straat, and this is the main gay street and focal point of the gay and lesbian scene. As well as the Amstel and Kerkstraat districts.
As Amsterdam celebrates gayness, all hotels listed are gay-friendly.
