In this area you will find a variety of gay and gay-friendly restaurants, coffee shops, clubs, bars and accommodation. Café Manhattan is probably one of the oldest gay venues, it is a relaxed bar and restaurant, also try The Bronx a popular action bar. For the more theatrically inclined, On Broadway offers regular performances by popular entertainers.

Regular events and dance parties such as the Mother City Queer Project attracts up to 10000 people from around the world every December who descend upon Cape Town dressed to the prevailing theme and ready to party. A must for all open-minded travellers.
